Diana Garcia Huaman

Certified educator and PhD candidate at the Department of Special Education, Stockholm University. My doctoral research examines the institutional and pedagogical structures that influence the educational inclusion of multilingual learners. I am particularly interested in how special educational support and linguistic support frameworks intersect to shape the academic development of students with migration backgrounds.

My research agenda is grounded in over a decade of practical experience across international school systems, including teaching Spanish and IB programmes in Peru, as well as a modern language (Spanish) and mother tongue teacher, and study counsellor within Swedish compulsory and secondary schooling. I hold an MSc in International and Comparative Education from Stockholm University, focusing on educational equity, power dynamics, and the democratization of marginalized knowledge.
