I am an ethnologist an defended my thesis Psychiatry and Pastoral Power in 2024. This thesis analyses the characteristics of contemporary inpatient psychiatric care, with a specific focus on how – what Michel Foucault calls – pastoral power is exercised and interacts with other types of power within a neoliberal context.

My postdoctoral project (2026-2028) examines how the tension between autonomy and autonomy restrictions in psychiatric inpatient care is expressed within the framework of the care method Patient-initiated brief admission.

I work with ethnographic methods and cultural analytical perspectives.
