Research project Re-offending, pre-release activity and aftercare for youth sentenced to youth custody
The purpose of the project is to follow up sentenced to youth custody in re-offending and look at changes over time and what factors are associated with higher and lower recidivism. In this part, the study is partly an extension of a previous study of convicts between the years 1999–2006. This new study includes convicts between 2007–2017. The former study showed that more open conditions impyed lower re-offending, even after several key factors related to risks for re-offending have been checked for. Given the central importance of opportunities for more open conditions, pre-release activities and aftercare for relapse, the purpose is also to investigate which pre-release activities and support in the near future after release from youth custody that occurs for the youths today.
