Two-year Master´s Degree
For a two-year master´s degree in Sociology (120 credits) you follow the Master´s programme in Sociology 120 credits or the Master´s Programme in Applied Social Research 120 credits. Under certain circumstances a degree can be composed of single course:
- Classical Sociological Theory 7.5 credits and Modern Sociological Theory 7.5 credits
- Qualitative Methods in the Social Sciences 7.5 credits and Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences 7.5 credits
- Elective courses at master level 60 credits
- Master Thesis in Sociology 30 credits
One-year Master´s Degree
A one-year master´s degree in Sociology (60 credits) is a possibility for master´s programme students to complete their degree at a lower level. These are the course requirements:
- Classical Sociological Theory 7.5 credits or Modern Sociological Theory 7.5 credits
- Qualitative Methods in the Social Sciences 7.5 credits or Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences 7.5 credits
- Elective courses at master level 30 credits
- Magister Thesis in Sociology 15 credits

After the completion of your studies you are welcome to apply for your degree certificate.
The diploma/certificate is issued upon request by submitting the application form.
