The resources at the Swedish Museum of Natural History is available for researchers and projects both in Sweden and internationally. Examples of available services are microscopes, isotope analysis tools and DNA-laboratory.

Transmission Electron Microscopy

TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) is used to examine ultra thin preparations of tissue. The museum runs the TAM-laboratory for cutting and preparation of matieral. The microscope is places at the Stockholm University.

X-ray

With the aid of x-ray it is possible to examine skeletal structures in animals. Another example of use is detection of ammunition residues in animals.

Center for Genetic Identification (CGI)

The Center for Genetic Identification is assignment based and offers DNA-analyses to institutions and organisations.

BioAtlas Sweden / GBIF-Sweden

Biodiversity Atlas Sweden (BAS) is a research infrastructure that provides data and analysis services that offer rich opportunities for innovative, interdisciplinary research on biodiversity and ecosystems.

The Vegacenter

The Vegacenter provides the scientific community with state-of-the-art microbeam analytical technology focused on in situ material analysis at the micron scale, permitting both fundamental and innovative investigation of chemical and isotopic composition of both natural and synthetic materials.
