According to a Rector’s decision on June 26th Jaime de la Cruz Rodriguez is promoted to professor in astronomy.

About Jaime de la Cruz Rodriguez
Jaime is a researcher at the Department of Astronomy and the Institute for Solar Physics working in the field of solar physics. His research focuses on the chromosphere inside the Sun. He uses observations from the Swedish 1-m Solar Telescope (SST) and advanced calculations of polarized radiative transfer to understand how the chromosphere heats up.
Jaime is also active in international organizations for solar physics (the European Solar Physics division and the European Solar Telescope). He was awarded a Starting grant in 2017 and a Consolidator grant in 2023 from the European Research Council (ERC).
