The Department of Astronomy offer teaching covering a wide range of topics within the field of astronomy all the way up to postgraduate level. We offer a broad selection of specialized courses held in English that can be taken both as freestanding courses or as part of one of our Master's programme.

Master's Programme in Astronomy
If you already have an undergraduate education in astronomy or physics, we offer a Master’s programme that will further deepen your knowledge.
Post graduate programme in astronomy
The doctoral program provides a deeper insight into one of the areas of astronomy, and provides the student with the knowledge and experience required to become a critical and independent researcher.
The work to install a new telescope at AlbaNova University Centre just started. The telescope has a diameter of 80 cm and will be used for public shows, education, and for research in quantum optics. On Wednesday the 10th of September the new telescope was moved into place by a large crane.
