We'll focus on the "Two Dogmas" philosophy of logic and on Kripke’s reported claim in his 70s seminar that Quine’s position depends upon confusing logical belief and logical inferential practice. We’ll consider what Kripke seems to have had in mind as an adoption problem for Quine, note that it depends on a resistible assumption, and formulate a different “adoption problem” that finesses the need for that assumption. Then we’ll consider more generally the “anti-exceptionalism” strand in Quine about logic and offer arguments why it is unsustainable.
