Research groups

The Department of Public Health Sciences conducts research in a number of different areas, mainly health inequity and social science research on alcohol, tobacco, drug and gambling issues.

Our research groups consist of a number of larger or smaller groups in different research areas. These are led by one or more senior researchers, namely professors or associate professors.

Research

Alcohol and Drug Research Network within Social Sciences (Sonad network)

The aim of the network is to increase the cooperation between different regions and research settings in Sweden and to form a national base and meeting place for young and more experienced researchers.

Children, Migration and Integration

In 2016, the Human Science Academic Area (HSAA) introduced a specific interdisciplinary initiative directed towards the themes of Children, Migration and Integration (CMI), an initiative to which the Vice-Chancellor had granted funds.

GARN - Gambling Research Network

GARN (Gambling Research Network) was formed in 2012 with the purpose to develop a meeting place for both new and more experienced researchers within the gambling field in Sweden.

Nordic Gambling Research Network – Gambling in Context (GAMIC)

The primary objective of GAMIC is to form a strong Nordic gambling research network involving senior and junior researchers and integrating existing national networks with aim of eliciting a strong and interdisciplinary Nordic contribution to the gambling research field.
