At Gösta Ekman's laboratories, Stockholm University, research is conducted into how humans experience the world around us using the senses of sight, hearing and smell. Among other things, the researchers study the psychological effects of noise, how the sense of smell can be used to detect dementia, how blind people can learn to navigate with the help of other senses and how people with spider phobia can wean themselves from strong emotional reactions. There are specially adapted experimental rooms for advanced scent exposure, sound reproduction, and recording of brain activity and eye movements. Read more about Gösta Ekman's laboratories
