AI and advanced algorithmic systems are rapidly transforming the global economy and society. But what does this mean for sustainability? Will AI help us overcome hurdles in achieving sustainability goals, or will it introduce new risks? The outcomes depend on ensuring proper governance and enabling conditions. Amy Luers will share her reflections on how AI can be harnessed to accelerate progress while addressing the complex challenges of the sustainability transition.

Amy Luers brings extensive experience to this discussion, having led sustainability initiatives at Microsoft, Future Earth, the White House, and Google, and worked with communities on water access in Latin America. She has published widely on societal vulnerability, climate impacts, science communication, and the intersection of digitalization and sustainability.
