DSV builds knowledge on sustainability and preparedness in two new EU projects
Three projects at Stockholm University received funding this year within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Networks (MSCA-DN) call. Two of them involve researchers from DSV.

The Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) at Stockholm University performed well in the competition for funding from the EU programme Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. Two projects, SoCRISP and BIO-ACTIVE, received funding for four years. The SoCRISP project focuses on strengthening crisis preparedness, while the BIO-ACTIVE project aims to develop smarter agriculture.
DSV professor Harko Verhagen and associate professor Nanda Wijermans coordinate the SoCRISP project, which includes 16 partner organisations in 11 European countries. Professor Rahim Rahmani represents DSV, Stockholm University, and Sweden as one of 11 partners in the BIO-ACTIVE project.
Professor Panagiotis Papapetrou is deputy head of department and director of research at DSV:
“It is highly rewarding to see my colleagues secure funding through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Networks in two areas of critical societal importance. This clearly demonstrates that the research conducted at DSV is both relevant and recognized at the European level,” he says.

In addition, another DSV researcher, Professor Afzal Siddiqui, is already involved in an EU project funded by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. This project focuses on Europe’s energy supply.
