Journalism and Digital Platforms
This course is aimed at students who want to develop a critical understanding of the financial and political relationships between news and platforms based on theoretical and practical perspectives derived from digital journalism studies.
For a passing result on the course, the student must be able to:
- report on current research and theories regarding journalism's use of digital platforms,
- show insight into the impact of platforms on journalistic production and media consumption,
- critically review the societal, political and economic consequences of digital platforms in relation to journalism
Teaching Format
Teaching consists of lectures and seminars. Course requirements: seminars are mandatory elements of the course.

Assessment
The course is examined through an individual exam and written assignments.

Students and researchers come here literally from all over the world and contribute with both knowledge and diversity.

Department of Media Studies and Section for Journalism, Media and Communication Studies is located off campus in central Stockholm close to both nature and for instance Public Service Radio and Television.
