Welcome to attend The Environmental Humanities Seminar Series at Stockholm University that explores how art, philosophy, and storytelling shape our understanding of environmental crises.

Are we living in an age of ecological grief? Can storytelling and speculative fiction help us reimagine life after environmental loss?

This spring, the Environmental Humanities Seminar Series at Stockholm University invites you to open, thought-provoking discussions that bridge history, art, philosophy, and science. Each session features leading researchers tackling some of today’s most urgent questions—offering new ways to think about our relationship with the planet.

"Life with Forest Loss: Renewed Relations and Ritual Re-enchantments"
What happens when forests disappear? This seminar explores the rituals and relationships that emerge in response.

Beyond the Seminar: Join the Speculative Fiction Reading Group

What if archaeology, environmental humanities, and science fiction could merge? The Environmental Humanities and Speculative Fiction Reading Group explores alternative futures through literature, academic texts, and creative writing. Whether you love sci-fi, environmental storytelling, or deep discussions on planetary futures, this is the space for you.
