Stockholm University ranked in the top 250 in THE World University Rankings
Stockholm University is ranked 201–250 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026, which lists the best universities in the world.

The ranking is published yearly by THE World Universities Insights Limited and is based on surveys to a number of people in the academic community, and data covering 18 indicators, within five areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook and industry income.
Among the Swedish universities Karolinska Institutet has the highest ranking, with place 53, followed by Lund University ranked number 95 and KTH ranked number 98. Uppsala University is found on place 128. The University of Oxford tops the list for the tenth consecutive year.
A general trend of rankings decline in continental Europe is emerging in the 2026 edition of the THE World University Rankings, however Denmark, Finland and Norway are bucking the trend and show strength this year.
In this year’s ranking 2,191 universities from 115 countries and regions are included.
