Stockholm University is ranked on place 147 in the QS World University Rankings 2026, which was presented on June 19.

Among Swedish higher education institutions, Stockholm University is in fourth place, Lund University has climbed to number one.
The QS Rankings is published annually by British Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The rankings are based on various indicators where academic reputation weighs the most. Other indicators are, among other things, citations per faculty, employer reputation, faculty student ratio, employability and sustainability.
This year Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) maintains its place at the top followed by Imperial College London and Stanford University.
