About me

I am a PhD student in Slavic linguistics within the Language and Power Doctoral School in the Humanities. My reseach project is focused on discursive functions of prefixation in Russian media. I also teach courses about Russia and Ukraine.

Academic Degrees

  • Master of Arts in Slavic Languages, Stockholm University (2017)
  • Bachelor of Arts in Russian, Stockholm University (2014)

I am course responsible for the following courses:

  • Course in Russian Social Studies (Politics and Economy), 7.5 ECTS credits, (SLRSPE)
  • the optional module Russian society, 5.0 ECTS credits, in the courses Russian III (SLRYS3) and Russian - Bachelor's course (SLRYS4).
  • Ukraine yesterday and today, 7.5 ECTS credits, (SLUIOI)

My PhD project deals with word formation in Russian media. I am especially interested in prefixes, small linguistic units added to the beginning of words, and their functions in language use. Many important problems regarding prefixes are still unsolved despite a lot of intensive work in this field of research. I think this research is important because it can tell us how changes in the political society are reflected in the Russian language.
