Marie Umerkajeff
About me
I teach at the undergraduate level in aesthetic learning processes, when possible, with specialization in drama in preschool, recreation centre and F-6 and on a sub-course in the bachelor program for drama/theatre at HSD. In addition, I teach subject didactics; psychology and theater within the KPU.
My competencies according to the Swedish National Agency for Education, in addition to my subject combination drama and psychology, are aesthetic communication, humanistic and social science specialization, humanistic and social sciences in experimental activities with national recruiting upper secondary education, art and culture and theatre. For compulsory school, my competences are religious knowledge and social studies. 4 - 6.
In addition to the teacher's certificate, I am an authorized drama pedagogue.
I have a master in the theory of practical knowledge.
For over eleven years I worked at a school where drama was a school subject by itself. At the same school, I ran Erasmus + projects with several other schools in Europe and organized Creative School activities at the school. Except for that I am currently working at Danderyds gymnasium.
Interests in the subject of drama
My interest in the aesthetic learning processes is genuinely rooted in everything I do. I see the drama game as a prerequisite for the individual to take on new concepts in an authentic way. Drama as a method means that students use their own experience to form new knowledge that can be summarized in new concepts and new ways of thinking.
During my long professional experience, I have shifted the focus from theatre production with all its components and elements to improvisation games that emphasize the importance of spontaneity, inspired by Viola Spolin and many other influences in between.
I am interested in creativity and how it can appear in the room.
