About me

I obtained a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Seville, period of time during which I discovered my interest in the application of Catalysis as well as the importance of applying new technologies in the context of climate change. This led me to enrol and complete a Master’s Degree in Catalysis from Cardiff University. After finishing my MSc, I was selected to partake with a Marie Curie scholarship in the Green Carbon group with which I am currently working since 2018 in Stockholm University.

  • Research/ Forskning

My main topic of interest consist in developing and applying heterogeneous catalytic systems for environmental chemistry.

  • On-going projects/ Pågående project

Two main projects are currently in the works:

  • Hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol by designing and testing a heterogeneous system that involves the capture of CO2 as well as its conversion into methanol. The first step part is done through the grafting of aminated polymers on silica surfaces and the second with the impregnation of an active ruthenium species.
  • Using activated carbons derived from biomass (waste milk) for the catalytic transesterification of oils into biodiesel.

These projects are supported by the EU-MSCA-ETN-GreenCarbon project 721991.
