About me
I am a PhD student in Ecology and Evolution under the supervision of Sarahi L. Garcia. I have always been interested in all microbial interactions of complex environments. I strongly desire to understand how microbial communities evolved and what are their roles in the biogeochemical cycles of aquatic ecosystems. To be able to accomplish that objective, we will first combine cultivated microbial model communities and environmental metagenomic samples from the Baltic Sea. I will perform several bioinformatics analysis to reveal patterns in the population of those samples and explore the microbial interactions employing network analysis. With the new information we can obtain from this complex dataset, one of my main goals is to discover important ecological mechanisms that can then be used to improve biotechnological tools for industrial purposes.
