About me
I am a doctoral candidate researching paleoclimate changes in Arctic marginal regions, particularly focusing on the Beaufort Sea in Canada and fjords in northern Greenland. My research investigates past environmental changes and coastal erosion in the Beaufort Sea with a specific emphasis on organic matter transport from the MacKenzie River. Additionally, I analyze past sea ice and glacier expansion and retreat in the Victoria Fjord in NW Greenland. To achieve this, I utilize a range of analytical techniques including biomarker analysis, hyperspectral core imaging, CT-scanning, and XRF analyses.
I have four weeks of sea-going experience and am joining the 6-week GEOEO cruise in August-September, 2024. My field work experience includes four weeks in Tuktoyaktuk, NT, Canada to retrieve coastal sediment cores using a UWITEC piston corer.
In addition to my academic interests, I stay updated on political initiatives concerning climate change solutions, advocate for adopting a low-carbon lifestyle, and actively support gender equality in STEM fields.
