About me

For many years I have been interested in patients with long-term physical symptoms where psychological factors can play a greater or lesser role in both the development and maintenance of physical symptoms. In previous psychological research, quite a lot of focus has been placed on the patient's thought patterns, which I don't always think is the most important focus. In my work as a clinical psychologist, I have seen that stressful life experiences, such as trauma, can tear both body and soul apart. In my research, I have therefore become interested in psychological treatment methods that place great emphasis on how trauma can affect the nervous system and how we can try to influence both physical and psychological symptoms with the help of emotion-focused work methods.

In addition to doing research at the Department of Psychology, Stockholm University, I work as a clinical psychologist within Region Stockholm.
