My research area covers picturebooks, illustration history, Avant-Garde and modernism studies. In my dissertation "The Images of Modernism" (2008) I studied modernist aesthetics in Nordic picturebooks, a topic I continued to investigate in "Eva Billow. Bilderbokskonstnär och författare" (2014). Together with Bettina Kümmerling Meibauer i co-edited "Children’s literature and the Avant-Garde" (2015) which was awarded IRSCL Edited Book Award 2017 och ChLA Edited Book Award 2017: https://benjamins.com/#catalog/books/clcc.5/main.
