About me
I hold a Ph.D. in Gender Studies from the Department of Ethnology, History of Religions and Gender Studies at Stockholm University. My doctoral thesis is a Swedish monograph with the English title Mas(s)turbatory Readings: A Queer Analysis of Popular Romance (2018). My research interests mainly include feminist cultural studies and queer theory. I hold a special interest in those types of popular culture that are associated with femininity and female audiences, such as boybands and romantic fiction. My latest research project is entitled ”What About Swedish Romance? Conventions and Communities in Contemporary Swedish Popular Romance”. The project is an international postdoc, financed by the Swedish Research Council (VR). It is affiliated with the Danish research program Uses of Literature: The Social Dimensions of Literature and the Department for the Study of Culture at the University of Southern Denmark.
