Emma Dahlin
About me
Dahlin is a researcher at the Department of Social Anthropology. Her research draws together anthropology, science and technology studies (STS), and philosophy. Dahlin has been a guest researcher at University of Oxford, University of California, Berkeley, and University of California, Santa Cruz. She has previously held a postdoc position at Linköping University, Department of Thematic Studies. The postdoc was funded by The Swedish Research Council International Postdoc (2019-2022), where one year was spent in Sweden and two years in the US. Dahlin has carried out field work in the US and the UK.
Dahlin's ongoing research is about AI in medicine. She runs a project together with Professor Steve Woolgar (LiU) funded by The Swedish Research Council.
Teaching
Dahlin is currently teaching at the Master Program where she supervises master theses.
Research
Dahlin's research has foremost focused on technology/human relations, specifically concerning AI technology and human relations and collaborations in various medical practices. She poses philosophical questions of what it is to be human (and technology) in an age of AI.
