About me
Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) is the main causative agent of tuberculosis (TB) in humans. Other members of this genus cause diseases such as leprosy (M. leprae), Buruli ulcer (M. ulcerans) and fish tank granuloma (M. marinum). The rise of antimicrobial resistance highlights the urgent need for novel therapeutics. My main research interest is the application of various structural biology techniques (X-ray crystallography, cryo-EM and cryo-ET) to potential targets from Mtb in order to facilitate next-generation drug, vaccine and diagnostic development.
