About me
I am a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) postdoctoral researcher and principal investigator of the IGO membership sanctions project. Currently, I am a visiting researcher at the Stockholm Center on Global Governance (SCGG). I hold a doctorate in political science from the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and have held visiting positions at Maastricht University (the Netherlands), MGIMO-University (Russia), and Tartu University (Estonia). My work is situated at the intersection of international relations and area studies with a focus on mechanisms of hegemony and dynamics of norm contestation in Eastern Europe and Eurasia. In my recent open access book, I examine the EU’s and Russia’s policies in Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus through the prism of hegemony. My current project explores the conditions under which International Governmental Organizations (IGO) apply sanctions or other punitive measures in response to Russian norm violations.
