Teaches Swedish Film and Television Culture (15 ECTS) in Fall 2025 (https://utbildning.su.se/english/education/course-catalogue/fv/fv1027). Other courses and modules taught in the last few semesters include Introduktion till filmvetenskapliga studier, 7,5 ECTS, Filmhistorisk översiktskurs 1: de rörliga bildernas historia från 1800-talet till och med 1920-talet, 7,5 ECTS och Cinema Studies revisited: Contemporary and historical perspectives, 7,5 ECTS.

Much of my research explores the economic and cultural histories of early cinema in the US and in Sweden, but in recent years I’ve also published work on contemporary Swedish television cultures, the institutional conditions of contemporary Swedish cinema, the role of filmmaking in the current American right-wing media system, and other topics. Whether historically oriented or dealing with contemporary issues, a recurring area of interest in my research is the global impact of American popular culture and how that cultural force is negotiated in local cultural contexts.
