About me
Kristian S. Olsen received his PhD. from the University of Oslo in 2021. His general research interests are in theoretical statistical physics, with particular focus on non-equilibrium thermodynamics and biophysical applications.
Kristian's current research focusses on stochastic thermodynamics of systems undergoing resetting to initial states. Such reset processes have found application to a wide range of systems, both in Nature and man-made. In spite of its wide relevance, the thermodynamics and time-reversal breaking of such processes is not yet fully understood. Other research projects involve active matter and its interaction with confinement or complex media, with applications to biological systems such as bacteria swimming in disordered landscapes.
