Latif Ullah
About me
Latif got his PhD from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), followed by a postdoctoral research fellowship at Peking University's College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering (CCME). In general, his research interests center around finding long-term solutions to environmental issues. More specifically, he works with functional porous materials for sorption (gas-solid/liquid-solid) and heterogeneous catalysis.
Here at MMK, Latif is involved in the reserach project aimed at the addressing the eutrophication problem in the Baltic Sea. He is applying cheap adsorbents, prepared at industrial scale, to lower the phosphate content in sea water. Already the project has shown potential to go a long way in solving the issue of eutrophication in sea water, and we at Stockholm University are optimistic that the dream of a revitalized Baltic Sea will be fulfilled in the not-too-distant future.
