About me
I am a PhD student in Sociological Demography at the Department of Sociology and SUDA, primarily based at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR) - Dep. of Digital and Computational Demography. I have earned the European Research Certificate in Demography from the European Doctoral School of Demography (2020-2021), a master's degree in Demography from the University of Strasbourg (2018-2020), and a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University Externado de Colombia (2010-2016).
Research
For my PhD dissertation, I aim to leverage genealogies to analyse the transmission of mortality across generations, by first examining their potential quality issues. In my current research paper, I am using demographic micro-simulation (SOCSIM) to assess the potential biases that could emerge when using genealogical data to estimate demographic measures.
