About me

I am a Ph.D. student in Gender Studies at the Graduate School GENHDI (The Graduate School in Gender, Humanities and Digital Cultures) since autumn 2023. My Ph.D. project will focus on contemporary Japanese female film directors and artists, mainly by analysing their cinematic/visual work.

Before starting my Ph.D., I obtained a Bachelor's in Cultural Studies (University of Gothenburg), a Bachelor's in Film Studies (University of Gothenburg), and a Master's in Film Studies (University of Gothenburg). In my previous research, the main focus has often been the representation of the body in visual culture. As an example, I have written about the figuration of artificial women in science fiction films.

My academic interests include Feminist Film Theory, Cultural Analysis, Japanese Film and Art, and Posthumanist Theory.

Supervisors are Lisa Käll (Stockholm University) and Malena Gustavsson (Stockholm University).
