Research
In my dissertation I explore how participation in the graffiti subculture influences individual’s life courses. I am interested in how participants employ and reflect over subcultural experiences as they grow older. I investigate construction of shared past and friendship through social media.
I employ qualitative mixed methods drawing on cultural sociology, existential sociology and visual sociology.
I study subcultures to expand understanding on production of meaning, collective memory, gender, ageing and generations, as well as relations between art, economy, and criminality.
