Teaching

I teach Italian Linguistics at all levels and Italian Literature at BA level. From 2014 to 2019, I worked with the Accademia dei Lincei to organize training courses for Italian language teachers in Brescia. I also coordinated two Winter schools on the same subject in Milan. I have been a visiting professor in Hungary, Russia and Western Australia.

Research

I have published various articles, essays and monographs on the history of the Italian language and dialects from the 14th to the 19th century, especially on medieval dialects, grammaticography, relationships between the Church and the vernacular, and 19th century literature. I have also published a handbook on techniques for learning to write and a dictionary of Italian word families (co-edited with Paolo D'Achille).
