Pavel Vostrejs

About me

Pavel received his bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Biotechnology in 2018 and his master’s degree in the same field in 2020 from Brno University of Technology. His master’s thesis focused on Polyhydroxyalkanoates–Lignin Composite Films for Food Packaging and was conducted as part of the SoMoPro project “Biocompatible and Biodegradable 3D Scaffolds Originated from Coffee and Winery Waste.”

He then earned his Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry at Brno University of Technology, where his research focused on the valorization of agricultural waste. During his doctoral work, he worked on composites based on lignin, polyhydroxyalkanoates, and bacterial cellulose; explored the biotechnological modification of lignin; and studied the surface functionalization of materials using lignin nanoparticles.

Pavel’s expertise spans biopolymer composites, waste-derived materials, and environmentally sustainable material design.
