About me

I am Pierre Quévreux, a doctor in ecology specialised in theoretical ecology. I build food web models to link community ecology and functional ecology to understand the dynamics of ecosystems. In particular, I am interested in how the aggregated processes at species level (e.g. resource consumption and nutrient excretion) drive biomass distribution and ecosystem processes such as nutrient cycling, biomass production and detritus decomposition. In my models, I try to grasp the functional diversity of organisms by implementing functional traits such as styoichiometry (C:N ratio), body mass (allometric parameterisation) and trophic type (primary producer, decomposer, predator, microbivore...). I am part of the SMILE project, directed by Stefano Manzoni.
