About me
Prasoon Kumar Thakur is a bioinformatician with a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from Charles University, Prague, and nearly a decade of research experience at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. His expertise covers NGS data analysis, genome annotation and transcriptomics, complemented by advanced programming skills in Python, R, and Bash.
He has worked extensively on large-scale biological data integration, splicing regulation, and evolutionary genomics, contributing to multiple peer-reviewed publications.
Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Ecology, Environment and Plant Sciences (DEEP), Stockholm University, supported by the Carl Trygger Foundation. His project, “Evolution of nitrogen-fixing root nodule symbioses: a bioinformatic approach targeted to the symbioses closest to the common ancestor,” explores the evolutionary history of nitrogen-fixing plant-microbe interactions using comparative genomics and computational biology.
