The question of the importance of legislative materials is relevant in all legal orders. It is assumed that Sweden represents an historical exception: legislative materials are considered to be a proper source of law. The purpose of the project is to examine the historical development of Swedish legislative materials, from the perspective of the legislator, the judge and the legal scientist. The starting point is the emancipation of human reason from natural law. The ending point is the neo-kantian critique of legal science, necessary for the final separation of politics and law.
