Level of living (LNU)

Research at the Level of Living-unit includes studies of individuals' living conditions, social stratification and economic and social inequality. Here we study what living conditions in society look like today for both adults and children, and how the standard of living in society has changed over time and between generations.

About me

Robert Erikson is professor of sociology at Stockholm University. His research interests concern social stratification, education and health, particularly the study of individual change over the life course. He is a fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the British Academy, Academia Europaea and honorary fellow of Nuffield College, Oxford. Selected publications include The Constant Flux - A Study of Class Mobility in Industrial Societies, (with John H. Goldthorpe); Can Education be Equalized? Sweden in Comparative Perspective, (edited with Jan O. Jonsson); as well as several articles in peer reviewed journals.
