About me

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Media Production from Linnaeus University and a Master's degree in Journalism from Stockholm University. Alongside my studies, I have primarily worked as a media analyst and sports journalist. My main research interest within journalism studies concerns the evolving conditions of sports journalism in relation to digital platforms, economic structures, and journalistic norms and values.

Research

In my master's thesis, I examined the textual structures of supporter-produced content in relation to traditional sports journalism in the Swedish evening and daily press. I found that while the boundaries between traditional journalism and supporter-generated material are becoming increasingly blurred, elements of counter-hegemonic narratives still persist. These findings pointed toward a form of hybridity – a mix of traditional and alternative elements – that both challenges and complements established norms within sports journalism.

My dissertation builds on this foundation by exploring how content, economic strategies, distribution practices, and the self-perceived purpose of new media actors influence the development of Swedish sports journalism, in comparison to traditional journalistic values and norms.
