Yeonju Jung
About me
Yeonju Jung is a PhD candidate in International Relations at Stockholm University. She is also an Associate Fellow in the Asia Programme at the Swedish Institute of Foreign Affairs.
Her research covers gender in security and development with a special focus on the East Asia region. She is particularly interested in emerging actors’ foreign assistance in peacebuilding and development and how it affects gender issues in fragile contexts.
She is currently focusing on China’s peacebuilding activities in conflict-affected areas from a gender perspective for her PhD project by using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
Previously, she has worked for the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute and holds a master’s degree in Social Anthropology of Development at SOAS, University of London.
