Workshop: Try an AI tool for Swedish historical texts
Workshop
Date: Wednesday 20 March 2024
Time: 13.00 – 16.00
Location: Room E487, Frescati Campus
Welcome to attend a practical workshop where you’ll learn to use the Transkribus tool. A new, innovative AI model makes it possible to interpret and access handwritten texts in Swedish.
15.6 million Swedish words, handwritten in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. These words are the basis for a new AI model, The Swedish Lion I, which can be used in Transkribus. The possibilities are endless, says Olof Karsvall, Research Manager at the Swedish National Archives.
At the workshop, he will introduce us to the tool. There will be plenty of time for the participants to try it out and ask Olof questions.
Moderators are Susanne Tienken and Jonatan Pettersson.
