Research project SciLife Lab Research Community Program:
Aquatic Microbial Research Initiative (AMRI) is one of seven research community projects (RCP) funded by the Science for Life Lab which brings together Swedish aquatic microbiologists under four themes: 1) Microorganisms as ecosystem engineers, 2) Microbial interactions and evolution, 3) Microbial biogeography across and within aquatic biomes, and 4) Bioinformatics of Aquatic Microbes. AMRI functions to organize workshops, research exchanges, and foster opportunities for Swedish researchers to advance our understanding of aquatic microbes and their functional role in the environment. This is an external grant of 1 MSEK/year and the P.I. is Stefan Bertilsson, Uppsala University and Rachel Foster is a Co-PI in this network.
