Research project An ethnographic exploration of treatment within Social Services for men who has perpetrated violence
An ethnographic exploration of treatment, within Social Services, for men who has perpetrated violence against a female partner
Research questions among others are how can we theoretically understand men´s accounts of their violence against women, what happens and why does it happen in a treatment group for men who has perpetrated violence against a female partner. Further, I explore the perspectives of the social workers on central themes in the thesis such as men´s violence, intimate relationships and treatment. Finally, I seek to explain how treatment for men emerged as a solution to the social problem of men´s violence against women.
