Research project Improvement and development of national guidelines for marine bio-optical measurements

The purpose of the project is to give advice to the Swedish marine monitoring groups regarding measurements of optical properties in Swedish waters, compare measurements of chlorophyll, coloured dissolved organic matter, suspended particulate matter and turbidity (turbidity), and to harmonise the measurements protocols between the Swedish monitoring groups.

Improvement and development of national guidelines for marine bio-optical measurements

The project is expected to lead to improved quality of bio-optical measurements, especially chlorophyll-a; quality control of data and the characterisation of sources of error, harmonisation of bio-optical methods within the national monitoring program and development of common protocols. Additionally, Susanne Kratzer provides expert advice to the Swedish monitoring groups regarding marine remote sensing.
