Research project Preschool enhanced: Language development in preschoolers through conversation and book reading
Book reading promotes child language development. The study evaluates a language-promoting preschool intervention based on conversation and book reading.

Project description
The collaborative project, initiated by Stockholm Municipality’s Preschoool Section, supports preschools’ work towards equivalent value in education. It focuses on children in their last preschool year in Greater Stockholm districts. The children’s preschool teachers provide the intervention while they attend a education program on responsive communication towards children and book reading strategies that promote language development.
The intervention effect will be studied in children individually and on group level.
