Research project Together for a safe start
Low socioeconomic status has a proven link to both mental and physical ill-health, as well as to increased use of health care services. To counteract long-term health risks in adulthood caused by health inequalities and toxic stress during childhood, early interventions are now being prioritized.
“Together for a Safe Start” is a pilot initiative within child health care, aimed at strengthening the conditions for good and equitable child health. The pilot will develop an evidence-based method for child health services, with a particular focus on promoting good mental health in children. The pilot program will be carried out through six home visits according to the so-called “Rinkeby Model,” and two additional clinic visits: one at the end of pregnancy and one when the child is approximately 2 years old.
