Research in political economy at Stockholm University is both theoretical and empirical and covers topics such as political aspects of the distribution of resources, the determinants of political preferences, the effects of political institutions on economic and development outcomes, and the political economy of mass media.
A key theme in several projects is the role of political elites in the democratization process.
