A Swedish Birth Cohort to Age 65

Criminal careers from adolescence to retirement age in individuals with experience of out-of-home care: prevalence, patterns and intergenerational associations (CRIMCAR)

The project 'Debt and Desistance in the Welface State - Women's Experiences of Coping with Debt when Desisting from Crime' is a longitudinal, qualitative interview study. It is a continuation and extension of Robin Gålnander's dissertation project 'Maintaining Desistance', which was formally finished in 2020.

Juvenile delinquency is one of the central problem areas both in criminological research and in Swedish public debate. Several of Sweden experts on juvenile delinquency are involved in this book project, which has been ongoing since 2001.

The project “Long-term outcomes of alternative sanctions for youths in conflict with the law: the influence of individual resources and social context”’s overall aim is to add knowledge about alternative sanctions for young offenders and assess their links to future life chances.

Maintaining desistance is about struggling. It is about leaving a destructive and unwanted way of life behind in pursuit of something else, something unknown, something 'normal'.

Gang desistance programs have become established as a central political strategy in Sweden. Within policing research, however, few studies have examined how the police can facilitate pathways to desistance for gang members.

In the proposed project we intend to investigate the development of crime and changes with respect to its risk factors, structure and distribution.

The Crime Drop represents one of the most unexpected social changes in the Western world in recent decades. Contemporary criminological research has therefore been focusing on trying to unfold the driving forces of this development.
