Research subject Music and Media
One of the research areas of musicology is how music interacts with visual, verbal and audio modes of expression in, for example, film and opera, and how music is influenced by technological media during the recording process.
Intermedial perspectives on representations of opera in film and relations between opera and film are also central.

The postgraduate studies in Musicology consists of four years of fulltime studies with employment. As a PhD student you will be contributing to the research from Stockholm University and to the research environment at the Department of Culture and Aesthetics.
